Les Gones' 2-0 reverse at home to Auxerre came hot on the heels of their elimination from the Champions League by Barcelona, while they were beaten by Lille in both the league and the Coupe de France the previous week.
The reigning champions have just their Ligue 1 title left to defend this season, and yesterday's loss means rivals Paris St Germain, Marseille and Bordeaux are all within three points of Lyon with 10 matches to go.
Boumsong remains bullish about the team's chances of salvaging some silverware this campaign.
"It's a defeat which has hurt us," the France international said after the Auxerre setback. "We are beaten but we are going to rise again. We are going to let the storm pass by and close ranks.
"It's not good but there is no crisis. It is one of the rare times when the club are not doing well at the end of a season but we will come out of this stronger."
PSG could have taken top spot if they had beaten Marseille last night but OM won 3-1 to go level on points with their arch-rivals.
They are both a point behind Lyon, who are three points clear of Bordeaux, last season's runners-up.
Lyon coach Claude Puel believes his side are still masters of their own destiny.
"There are 10 matches left and even if PSG are making the major headlines, I consider that it all depends on us," he said.
Ireneusz Jelen put Auxerre ahead in the 41st minute and Thomas Kahlenberg scored the second in second-half stoppage time.
Their coach Jean Fernandez, whose side are now five points clear of the relegation zone, labelled it "one of his best wins since arriving at Auxerre".
"This kind of result can allow us to build up confidence," he said. "It is a real exploit. Nobody saw us winning but we didn't travel as tourists - we came to take the points."
