Former Real Madrid star Roberto Carlos has not ruled out a move back to the Bernabeu, should Florentino Perez return to the presidency of the Spanish giants this summer.
The Brazilian left Madrid for Fenerbahce in 2007 after 11 years at the capital club and with four league titles and three Champions League crowns among his trophies.
However, should Perez - who was in charge from 2000 to 2007 - triumph in the summer presidential elections, the free-kick specialist could once again grace the Primera Liga.
''If Florentino comes and says 'Roberto, come back', I will have to think about it and talk about it,'' Roberto Carlos told Spanish radio station Cadena Cope. ''I have never said I won't come back.
''I renewed my deal here, I have another year on my contract, but a lot of things can happen. People know I have a really great admiration and respect for Florentino.
''Fenerbahce have given me the opportunity to be here 10, 15 years but I was at Real Madrid for 11 years and they will always be my team for life.
''If I said now that I didn't want to go back I would be lying, but we have to wait and see who will come in with Florentino, what plans Florentino has.''
The World Cup winner turns 36 next month but insists he can still cut it at the top.
''I would return to Madrid to play, to be part of a group of champions,'' continued Roberto Carlos. ''I would not return to play a bit-part role, I feel strong and if I had the chance to return to playing at the highest level, I would think about it.
''When you train well and you are motivated, everything is much easier. This season I have scored five goals in the league and three in the Turkish cup.
''I know that I can be at the top level for three more seasons. I feel strong. I want to continue playing and then I will think about coaching.''
